Hello all, I have a '00 ram 1500 5.9l. My ques. is, where is (or is there) the bleeder valve for the cooling system? I replaced heater core 1 month ago, and ever since I hear gurgling ( air in system) when eng is cold. when eng is warm i don't hear this sound. Neighbor says try bleeding the sys. I don't know if he is stoned or serious. I have never heard of doing this even though my mech. skills aren't top notch. thanks in advance. oh yeah, after replacing core i changed all coolant in system with new stuff.

cooling system(coolant/antifreeze) or A/C(refridgerant)? to be clear? different things. you changed heater core so is assuming a/c correct?

when you put coolant in, did you let it run, up to temp with cap off, stop engine, squeeze upper hose to get air out, then fill back up to filler neck?

yes, after filling w/ antifreeze warmed up to temp. w/ cap off but never thought about squeezing top rad. hose. much appreciated info. before i go get system flushed. waste of new antifreeze if you ask me. now, when i squeeze hose does truck need to be on an incline(front of truck raised)?

it shouldn't, or atleast haynes manual doesn't specify.

The air should come out on it's own, but you can bleed it off by loosening the top heater hose and once the thermostat opens pull the hose of allowing the antifreeze to drain into a clean container, as soon as you get a steady stream push the hose back on and tighten it, pour the coolant back into the overflow.

uh im pretty sure you cant bleed a cooling system.
Certain applications are harder to bleed than others, manufacturers in some cases add a bleeder screw or cap on the highest point of the engine. 3.9L, 5.2L, 5.9L didn't have a seperate bleeder. You run it with the heat on and the cap off, until the thermostat opens and top off the system (the upper hose will become hot to the touch). Install the cap and properly fill the overflow bottle.
3.7L, 4.7L, and 5.7L's have a bleeder plug you remove, then fill the system until the coolant streams out of the hole steady, then reinstall the plug.
