View Full Version : Winches?
Any recommendations? I'm thinking the Smittybilt XRC-8 (http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/38.htm) or XRC-10 (http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/45.htm). For the price ($300 and $400 respectively) these seem to be real winners. I don't plan to need a winch often, but it would be nice to have something fairly capable.

Hey Jason
If your not an ego chaser I would say get a Champion 10,000lbs'er. I got one for very cheap (350 canadian) and it comes with the kit which companies like warn will charge you serious extra for. Came with 2" Receiver mount, snatch block (a must have), pre-made cables with good fork-lift style connecters, pin for hitch, The last time I used it on my Ram it was strong enough to pull my truck straight up lol then out.
It uses the same design as my old Warn Winch. Very Happy with it.
Thanks Roper. No no ego chasing here. I'll look into the Champion. Sounds like a great option. Thanks!

let me know if they are good i know nothing about these type
Yeah the price is really what caught my eye. Its a local shop that advertises on Craigslist. Talked with them and they're an authorized dealer who's been selling this brand for years. They apparently even swap out all the hardware with stainless steel stuffs before shipping/pickup.
Haven't jumped on one yet. With the holidays comin and all...
