I have a 1997 3500 V10 and I had to rebuild the motor and now I have "running water " noise that comes form under the dash. It goes away after driving for about 30 minutes but it comes back after it sets . It is not wet anywhere so......
Any Ideas???
Thanks
Mike

Air pocket in the heater core??
That would be one guess of mine. Another is the A/C drain just behind the reciever/dryer plugged??? A shot of compressed air will take care of that somewhat, especially if the evaporator core is covered in dirt and leaves. Pull the cowl screen and make sure the drains on either side are clear.

Take the radiator cap off. Top off the coolant slightly below the neck. Start the engine. Set the heater blower to slowest or second slowest speed, vent position, highest temp setting. Let engine idle till thermostat opens. Air bubbles should come outof radiator neck. Keep a drain bucket under area below neck. Raising engine RPMs will speed engine warm up. When upper radiator hose is hot to touch check heater hose temps. Should be hot too. Top off coolant. Reinstall radiator cap. Top off overflow bottle.

I use a airlift to make sure the air is out of the system when I drain coolant. they are expensive though. I think its around $150 if I remember right.

I also had same issue with my 99 1500, tried blowing air in drain to clear any blockage. After seeing comment abotu cowl I cleaned mine out but found no blockage I could see.
But, I did notice leaves/trash in the area between the fender and inner panel/firewall in a pocket below the passenger side hood hinge. Cleared that junk out and have had no more 'gurggling' sound. Can't explain what that has to do with anything but it's been 2 weeks since I did that.
You'll need a shop vac with small diameter hose to access the area.
Sounds nuts though, doesn't it?
Hope that helps.
