Hey guys. I signed up a few days ago. I'm looking forward to learning more about my truck and other guys trucks and mods they have done, as well as make some new friends. Hopefully I can find out and fix the problem that I have now with some help from you guys. I have an 04 HEMI QC 4x4. I started with the truck running rough, went to a garage, got a random missfire code. They did a tune up, and checked all the coils one by one with a new one, still running rough. Then they added gas treatment, and it went away! Hmmm.... must have been bad gas right? I added two more rounds of fuel treatment and it seemed to be ok . . . when all of a sudden . . IT"S BACK! Running rough as hell. Had an engine light come on, then went away on it's own after a few days. Now it still runs like crap, but no light. Throttle body was cleaned as well so I don't think thats it. Weird. I have been told it could be anything from a dirty PVC valve ( going to check this weekend ) to clogged or leaking injector, to broken valve spring wich is common on the HEMI from what I have been told when the get up to 80,000 miles and beyond. Anybody want to chime in? The truck is stock except for the vortex exhaust from Midas.Any help is appreciated guys. This is a great site.

Hold on I have to run outside and look . . .84,466. I don't drive it much the last 2 years. I drive between Friday and Sunday. Other than that I drive it when I am on vacation. I have a company work truck that I drive all week, and for the last year I have been staying out of town so I don't even get to drive it a little on week nights. I don't think it's an issue of sitting because it's been fine until about a month ago it started acting up. Never even had problems with it in the cold or snow. I probably drive enough to keep the cob webs out of it. Other info, I run nothing but super with an ocassional bottle of lucas injector cleaner and I run synthetic oil in it. Ever heard of replacing all the valve springs with 6.1 litre HEMI exhaust springs on all 16 intake and exhaust? I had a guy tell me to do that if I find one thats broken and I decide I want to make the problem go away for good. Anything else I can tell you let me know thanks for the time and interest.

Had similar problem with 03 truck. The dealers computer checker should have picked it up but mine was a faulty crank angle sensor. good luck

So was yours running almost as if it could not take the fuel you were giving it? It seems to be affecting the shift points almost as if it's misinterpereting the rpms. Don't get me wrong the tranny is fine it's just reacting to the weird rough running of the truck. Looks like I need to bring it to the stealership, ugh! Damn electronics!
