Hello there guys,

First of all, I am from Kuwait and for the first time searching to buy an American 4X4 Truck (reason below), I am actually a Cruiser owner, I own a 2006 4.5l straight six Short Wheel Base Land Cruiser (70series), and never bought anything else but 70series Cruisers (which you dont get in North America)

This is my '06 FZJ71 Land Cruiser:

I never ever though of buying a Chevrolet nor Dodge, Ford came to my mind once but gone........well after the launch of the 2010 Power Wagon...I began to search more and more, magazines, videos, pics, tests, articles etc..about the mighty truck! and never found the answer to my question. In my opinion the Dodge Power Wagon might be the best 4X4 truck ever built, it has both toughness and comfort as well as an amazing 4wd features, its the Ultimate 4X4 Truck!

But here I am, waiting to get your feedback about the PW, reliability is my question here! how do you rate or think it can satisfy its owner, because I am a Cruiser owner I am looking for a reliable truck which I can trust! I go to places where you cant find a single track, and I want a Truck with no transmission or engine problems, You see I never had any problems with my Cruiser even when I abuse it! I am always scared about the ''check engine, fix'' signs that You get in American trucks! also heard many problems such as ''lifters, transmission shift faliure or late shifts'' and so on.....I dont want such problems, I am used to my Toyota Land Cruiser which never gave me a single problem!

Currently, I am very seriouse about the Power Wagon! and I dont think that any 4X4 Truck out there can change my mind! here in the Middle East we still can get brand new 70series Land Cruisers, Nissan Patrols (all of these are live axles) ofcourse! but with a dual cap and the right comfort, again the Power Wagon is the Ultimate!

Please Help! what are the cons of the 2011 Power Wagon? especially the mechanical things which includes (engine - transmission - axles etc)?

Thanks a lot guys:)

Ok, I'm a former Toyota owner (pickups) In 2005, I traded for Dodge 1500 QC 4X4 Hemi Ram. I know it's not a PW but in my case, I'd saw the Dodge is a better made truck than the Toyotas. In 140,000 miles here's what I've had to do, other than tires, spark plugs, and fluid changes : At 85,000 miles, new brake pads. At 110,000 a tie rod end. Now at 140,000 I'm having an issue with the transfer case. Now, here's how I use my truck= very severe, I dragrace on the weekends, tow heavy trailers, and have used it a lot to yank heavy logs out of the forest, something that probably caused my transfer case to act up. You wouldn't believe how hard my truck will pull, I use a heavy dacron rope with 11,000 lb pull 5.5 tons and it will easily break the pull line in low range 4X4. After all the abuse, my truck still looks and drives like new, no rattles, squeaks, etc. Burns no oil, even having been beat on, raced with a 100 hp shot of nitrous and running a racing cam! Forget about GM or even Fords, the Ram is far and away the best truck. The Toyota Tundra is a nice truck, but the Ram seems to be built better to me and the frames on the Tundras seem rubbery to me. The only reason not to buy the Powerwagon, If you've driven the Cummins HD Ram. BTW, I have driven my Dodge Magnum RT Hemi 202,000 miles, troublefree ! 342,000 troublefree Hemi miles Mobil One oil. If you do your own maintance , you'll have less trouble. Drive a Ram, you'll be sold.

Thanks for the reply formerice :)

Great to hear that! If I buy the PW I will still be having my Cruiser, reason is those Cruisers are rare after Toyota changed the 4.5straight six to the 4.0 V6 in 2007, and they'll survive anything! BTW, this SWB Cruiser does 16.2 in a 1/4 mile bone stock ;) but racing is not my game, I am always there when it comes to 4wd and multi purpose vehicle.

Now for the PW, I cant think of any other 4X4 truck, it is a real deal - as I said the Ultimate!

I would keep it too, it's a cool vehicle and I'm a big fan of inline sixes! In early 1950's my dad bought an Army surplus Dodge WC troop carrier truck which I learned to drive on. It was geared very low and that inline six would pull like a locomotive. By the time I was 6 , I could drive it anywhere on the farm. The steel on that thing probably would stop any handgun bullet. That was the fore runner of the original Powerwagons that were built well into the 60's, perhaps later. Those are some of the toughest trucks ever made! The new PW's are more like a Mercedes as far as comfort and fit and finish. I would love to own one, but it's too beautiful to take in the woods and mud and use like I do my 1500. I recently drove a 2500 mega cab 4X4 Laramie with every conceivable option and the Cummins. That was a mistake! Now I want a Ram 2500 4x4 ! Talk about an inline six. That truck was huge, yet drove soo nice! If you get one, you will need lots of toys to tow behind her, trailers, boats, ATV's. Make sure you post up pictures, if you get one.
