Well...I did some minor upgrades to the truck Monday.

1. New LT245/75RX16 Toyo Open Country A/T tires. No new wheels...couldn't find any Dodge stock wheel takeoff's at the store. I've had these tires before and they are a great on road/off road all season tire with an agressive enough tread to get through some slop, snow and ice with no problems.

2. Upgraded the sound system - Alpine CDE 9874 AM/FM/Single MP3 CD head unit; Alpine SPS-500 5.25" rear speakers; Alpine SPS-609 6X9 front speakers. Sounds a LOT better!

3. Volant 16859 CAI. It's on order and should be here soon.

That's it for now. I'm researching chips/programmers now + I'll go see my exhaust guy next Saturday to replace the stock muffler with something with a little more growl to it.

All in all, a good day for my truck!

Here's some pics:

i should have checked this out on another place but did you have to do any mods to the dash to make it fit..ie: cutting. face plate that sorta stuff..
i bet that system rocks

No, no cutting required. Went with a single DIN head unit, a mounting kit and a filler plate. No problemo!

Sounds good..will sound better with an amp tied into the system and that will happen pretty quickly!

Oh...I kinda jumped the gun on the exhaust upgrade today. Took my lunch hour and went down to the shop. Had a Magnaflow single in/dual out muffler, new tailpipes and some nice angle cut chrome tips installed. Sounds good!

I'll get some pics of that + a vid with sound taken this weekend and post those up.

what motor do you have? i have a 94 ram wth a 318, 5 speed. i just put a flowmaster on it and it sucks. it was free andi dont know what series it is. i just want to take it off. its really pingy sounding, from the muffler it self. i wanted to go magneflow. did you get a nice low rummble from yours? i kept all my piping stock and just changed the muffler.

I have the 318. I passed on the Flowmaster that my bud offered me for a cheaper price just because of that issue.

I got a nice rumble cruising, pretty quiet at highway speed and a nice agressive tone when I get on it. The muffler I got was single in/dual out so I have new tailpipes (2.25") as well.

Good luck. The retail price of the Magnaflow I put on was $169 but I got it for a lot less!

cool...all ya gotta do is match the pipe size. If it's a bit smaller on the muffler ends, you can always swage them up a 1/4" to fit.

I replaced my single tailpipe as I went single in/dual out muffler. So now I have two nice new tailpipes....
