Hello,
My 2005 Ram 2500's blower motor is intermittent. After several hours of operation it starts to roar, slows down and eventually stops working. Seems like maybe a heat issue with the motor itself. Some people have suggested the resistor may be bad. But the problem comes and goes. I would think that if it were the resistor, it would stop completely. Any advice?
Thanks.

First question, does the recirc. function work correctly??? The recirc. doors on these have a tendency to break, and fall into the blower wheel.

The recirc seems to work ok. When switched on, I do get the increased cfm.

Next time it happens have a test light handy, do not turn off system. Disconnect the blower motor connector, and hook the test light across the connector (to each terminal). If the test light is on the blower motor is bad. If it does not come on at all it may be the resistor.

I have this same issue in my '03. I do not have autoclimate though. I have found that the wiring going to the ignition back to the blower motor isn't large enough to take the heat from the power running through it. It was a TSB on the '02, but when I tried to get it done for my truck, I was declined and to top it off, they would not sell me the wire overlay harness. So I will have to get the specs for it and make one myself. It may not be the problem with yours, but just something to throw out there.

It was not a TSB, it was a safety recall, Recall C11 for 2002 1500's only. Unless yours slipped out early in 2003 production with the undersized wiring terminals... The recall part # is CBT1C110.
