it seems that I have a whistling sound from the front of my 2004 hemi ..it runs nice for 127000 miles the belts look good with proper tension what could this be? the sound is maddening..not too loud but loud enough to know its not right..it is there whether the ac is on or off..

Could be any belt driven accessory. Use a mechanic's stehescope and probe near each pulley until you find the loudest. Idler pulleys and sometimes tensioner pulleys you can go on the center bolt for more accurate diagnosis. Alternators, water pumps, A/C compressors you have to probe near the pulley, and on the rear housing of these components, because these have an outer and inner shaft bearing (Water Pump is the exception to this, only has one bearing.) Loudest one is typically the culprit.
