Hi all. I tried to research and I can't seem to find any answers regarding the option of the DVD-Audio controls. Does anyone use the DVD-Audio and have you figured out how to use the controls to change groups?

All DVD-Audio is allowed to have up to 9 groups on a disc. My 2012 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie will only read and play the first group of songs. The owners manual or any other reference doesn't cover this at all.

Can anyone help?

p.s. I've only had my Ram truck a week. So I am still learning... love the Hemi! And it is my first 4 wheel drive for many years. I always preferred 2 wheel drive (wear and tear). But with the past few bad snowy winters, think it is time to have the 4x4 available!

It should be in your radio manual, but in Disc mode, if the list of folders isn't displayed on the right side, touch the list button on the screen. Then touch the folder you want to open and play. Let me know if this works.

Radio manual? Not sure what you mean. I don't think a separate manual is provided for just the radio. The owners manual covers very little and the users guide manual has more info, but zero info regarding about DVD-Audio and the controls.

But keep in mind DVD-Audio is not the same as your normal DVD-Video with movies. I researched more about DVD-Audio and it is not just normal CD like playing. DVD-Audio have HD audio files (ie. 24bit digital, unlike CDs have 16bit). The sound and quality is like you are in the studio (or live at the show). DVD-Audio disc is allowed up to 9 groups. A group is the same as a individual album and could hold up to 99 tracks.

It appears the only easy software I found to play DVD-Audio on the computer is WIN DVD 6.0 or 7.0. When I use that software on the computer, it reads the DVD-Audio disc and I see a menu of the groups (in this case each album). I can select which album and then it shows me the list of tracks for that group/album. But when I place the same DVD-Audio disc into my Ram player, it immediately lists only the 1st group of tracks only (plus it is just track 01, track 02, etc. without proper names like in WIN DVD 7.0). I tried all the controls and the only thing I am able to do is select/list the tracks in this Group 01.

I am trying to figure out how to switch to a different group... or perhaps my player is faulty? This is why I would like to discuss with someone that is familiar with DVD-Audio.

Lastly, I realize DVD-Audio never took off too well in the music industry. Few DVD-Audio's were released and again, they are high definition audio (24bit or more). They are not your normal DVD videos. Few home DVD players can play them (unless they specify DVD-A and most don't) Again, does anyone on here use the DVD-Audio in their newer RAM? I think the DVD-Audio is only available in the newer RAMs.

I feel your pain. Dodge clearly labels the decks DVD-Audio. I just joined the forum to find more info on the DVD-Audio system. I can't find any.

It's too bad people are only concerned about bad sounding mp3 files when they have a DVD-Audio player (?) in their truck. They don't have a clue of what they're missing.

search YouTube for Queen - The Prophet's Song(DVD Audio-Version)

Dodge owners - you want get the true sound without hearing it on a DVD-Audio player but it's a start. Anyone with info on the Ram DVD-Audio player please post up.
