There are many ways of posting pics on these forums and you're welcome to use any method you prefer. The following is just one of those ways, and is meant to get newbies to photo-posting off and running with as little pain as possible.
This tutorial is for use with the photo hosting website PhotoBucket.com (www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com)). They will give you a free account, or you can upgrade and go with their pay-for version. This tutorial walks you thru the free account setup.

7: The 800x600 setting is just a general suggestion. You're welcome to use the resolution you prefer. Just keep in mind that most monitors out there still only resolve to 1024x768, so if you go larger than that, you're requiring your viewer to do a lot of scrolling... and generally that makes for one cranky viewer. :p
