I have a 2001 ram 1500 and everything has been working fine until, the fog lights have quit. i checked the relay, and fuses..everything is fine, so i ordered a new switch i've seen them go bad before...replaced and nothing changed.
now i checked the light sockets for the fog lights themselves, i have all kinds of power, but with both sides..no ground ? is there a body ground or a splice that can go wrong, where do i head next ?

You don't have the high beams on, right??? Is the fog light relay working??? Let's start simple. Remove the fog light relay. With a jumper lead clipped to ground (negative cable), touch the jumper lead to terminal 30 in the PDC for the fog light relay. The fog lights should come on and the fog lamp indicator should come on regardless of actual fog switch operation. This proves out the ground side of the fog lights up to the fog relay.
Now, with the relay still removed, and the fog light switch on, using a test light clipped to the positive cable, probe terminals 85 and 87 in the PDC for the fog light relay. The test light should light. This prove out the other half of the ground side of the fog lights after the relay, including the splice S183 internal to the PDC. If the test light didn't light on only one terminal in the PDC this indicates an issue with S183. If the test light didn't light at all on both terminals then either there is an issue with S183, or somewhere else in the circuit. With the headlights on and the test light hooked to ground, probe terminal 86. test light should illuminate. I'll stop here, I think you have enough to diagnose this issue.

i checked relays and all the wiring...i found a broken ground on the factory wireharness...
right at the T where it splits to the driver and passager side lights...the wire loom rubbed through the ground wire and corroded it...cut, splice, heat shrink...works fine now !!
Thanks you for you Help
